Action  Self-Defense

WHAT IS ACTION?

ACTION is a self-defense course by and for women, created in 1984 with the aim of offering participants concrete and effective verbal and physical tools to protect themselves, set limits and stop various situations of aggression. We believe that every woman has the right to live free of violence and discrimination. This course examines the dynamics involved in situations of aggression and proposes effective, concrete strategies that give women TOOLS to protect themselves, set their limits and fight against the discrimination they might face and which could harm their well-being, their sense of security, their power of choice, their access to resources, and so on.

The majority of our ACTION courses are offered in women’s centers and other organizations, with priority given to users of these centers. Promotion and registration are handled by these organizations.

In addition to these courses, each year we offer 4 courses open to all adult women and 2 courses for teenagers. Teenage girls are not admitted to the adult course, and vice versa. These are advertised here, as well as on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

These classes are given over one full day and cost $55.

For more information and individual registrations: email us at centre@cpamapc.org, or call us at 514 284-1212.
